Laymen in Jazz has performed Mainstream Jazz for more than 3 years. The name of this band has multiple meanings: 1) to bring the joy of Jazz to more laymen audience; 2) the band members treat themselves as “laymen”, always striving for musical improvement; 3) the band keeps inviting less experienced players, who can grow faster on the bandstage.

Laymen in Jazz已成立超過三年，主力演奏上世紀中期的爵士樂曲，隊名具備多重意義：一）讓更多未認識爵士樂的大眾可以感受到這種音樂的樂趣；二）樂手要保持「門外漢」的心態，力求音樂造詣上的改進；三）樂隊常有新人加入，讓大家在舞台上磨練進步。
